"cherry_blossom55 made this awesome duvet cover for her boyfriend, who is a chemistry major. It has the entire periodic table of elements on it! She ran each square through a printer to attach the proper element. More pictures of the process at Craftster:

"stay at my home" is a series of objects for the good host.
It enables him to install a comfortable overnight stay for his guest.
The main object of the series is a comfortable mattress, which offers the guest a comfortable bed for the night.
Due to a special foam composition, the mattress can be rolled up and stowed away under the furniture.
The furniture serves as a basis for the guest, here he can place his belongings. In the drawer of the furniture, cover, pillow and the bedside lamp are stored. The drawer can be removed from the furniture and can be placed as a storage box within easy reach from the bed.
The torchlike lamp simplifies the orientation for the guest. The arrow-shaped carpet does not only symbolize the warm welcome, but can also point into a room as an invitation.
The light weight objects offer the guests the freedom to position the bedding as they like.
The series doesn’t have to be hidden in the attic anymore, but forms an ensemble that can stay in the living area.

"Dutch designer Tineke Beunders of Ontwerpduo presents a suite of scaled-up dolls house furniture and objects at the Design Academy Eindhoven graduate show this month.

Called When I Was Small, the range includes a coathanger made of a giant paperclip and a dressing table with hinges resembling oversized nails.

Here's some info from Design Academy Eindhoven, followed by a statement by the designer:

Website www.ontwerpduo.nl

Project: When I was little
Description: This dressing table is a full-scale design in the formal idiom of a doll's house. With rounded forms, unusual proportions, and a green coating give it a fairytale feel. Enlarging, a paper clip becomes a useful coat hanger and a nail, a decorative handle.

Barbiedolls, playmobil and dollhouses… They have become too small for me, or I am too big for them. When I was little, I made accessories for my dolls. With these accessories and dolls I made stories. Ordinary everyday stories, with everyday things. Nowadays these stories are special memories. These special memories can be a part of our everyday life again.

Looking at my small toys and using their specific shapes and solutions I've redesigned and made my toys the adult size. And when you use my products in your daily life, you can’t help to dream away sometimes…

Material(s): Wood, ceramics, glass, wool, metal." added on 2008-10-27

"A kitchen, an office and a bedroom that fold out of these lovely cabinets, designed by Toshihiko Suzuki Architect.

They call it 'Architectural Furniture.' You can buy the office unit on Amazon, albeit for 800,000 yen which is a lot of money and becoming more so by the hour.

The office looks quite comfortable and workable too, with storage and an integrated seat. The english website gives quite a bit of architectural history, going back to Pierre Chareau and Reitveld, right through to Columbo and Andrea Zittel as influences." added on 2008-09-26
