This is one of the top places for live jazz in Newark. Located in a renovated section of the St. Joseph's church, The Priory serves excellent Creole/southern food along with their Friday and Sunday jazz. They have a live pianist during lunch and an excellent buffet. The rising archways and original stained glass prove a romantic setting for a Friday night date. added on 2007-04-19

Built in 1870, this gorgeous 7-room house with a large backyard has cozy rooms with fireplaces and serves a full breakfast in their dining room every morning. Pimped out with marble in the lobby, impressive ballrooms, and spacious rooms, the place has been refurbished to look as it did when it opened over a hundred years ago.
